About College
Appasaheb Birnale College of Pharmacy, Sangli is built with deep vision. Our institution is first pioneer institution in Shivaji University, Kolhapur which is run on no aid basis. The college has made pioneering efforts in providing the comprehensive education and training in pharmaceutical sciences to the students coming particularly from the rural areas under the guidance of Principal D. D. Chougule. His constant efforts and inspiration motivation brings commendable progress in a short period of time. The college helps the students to achieve individual excellence. With liberation of economy and globalization of world market under GATT, Pharmacy education has to keep pace with the fast development in Pharmaceutical
Technology, Pharmaceutical Marketing and Pharmaceutical Research in the global context. The management and faculty members of our college are endeavouring towards this object.
Appasaheb Birnale College of Pharmacy (Diploma) is affiliated to Board of Technical Examination and Degree & Post graduate course in Pharmacy is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Both the colleges are approved by Govt. of Maharashtra, Director of Technical Education, Mumbai and AICTE, New Delhi. The intake capacity of the both courses is 60 students per year respectively.

About Trust
Shri Vasantrao Banduji Patil trust is the outcome of the hard efforts of the eminent social worker of Sangli, Late Shri. Appasaheb Birnale (Ex MLA and Ex. President Z.P., Sangli.) in the year 1971, in the memory of Sahakar Maharshi and Ex. Chief Minister of Maharashtra Late Padmabhushan Shri. Vasantrao Dada Patil for his contribution as a great freedom fighter and his revolutionary policies of uplifting and widening in the field of education and for their matchless services to humanity and mankind.
The main idea behind this trust was to part the professional, advanced and technical education to the deserving, needy students from the interior and village region.
These institute is highly indebted to sanguine efforts and constant inspiration of SHRI.BABANRAO BIRNALE,Chairman of the trust.
To make the dreams come true, the management started ventures of such as
- Shri. Vasantdada Patil Ayurvedic Medical College and Institute of Yoga, Sangli in 1981,
- Appasaheb Birnale College of Pharmacy, Sangli (Diploma) in 1985,
- Appasaheb Birnale College of Pharmacy (Degree) in 1991,
- Appasaheb Birnale Dept. of Vocational Education (Paramedical Course), Sangli in 1992,
- Appasaheb Birnale College of Architecture, Sangli in 1993
- Appasaheb Birnale Public School in 1997 and
- Appasaheb Birnale College of Pharmacy(P.G.in Pharm.Chemistry), Sangli in 2002
These institutes are an important milestone in the progress of dreams.
The trust is indebted to constant efforts and inspiration of Shri. Babanrao Birnale, Chairman of the trust. The progress of the trust is due to the major contributions of Late Shri. Prakashbapu Patil (M.P. and Ex. Chairman of Vasantdada Patil Sugar Factory) and late Shri Vishnu Anna Patil. We are grateful to Shri P. H. Kulkarni Hon. Secretary of the trust for his efforts to this path of programme.
